South American Groups
The qualification format for South America involves a league system with teams playing each other home and away The top four go through by right, with the side finishing fifth going into a play-off with the fourth-placed side from the Americas zone. As Brazil have already qualified as hosts there will only be 9 teams competing this time around.
Qualification will be from October 2011 to September 2013.
