European Qualification Groups

The 2014 World Cup European Qualification Groups have been revealed and there are a number of exciting match-ups for football fans to look forward to. Without a doubt the most intrguing of these comes in Group I, which pairs the current World Cup and European holders Spain against the 1998 World Cup Winners France.

There a total of 53 teams, who have been placed in nine qualifying groups. The teams will play each other on a home and away basis. The nine Group winners will automatically qualify for Brazil, while the eight runners-up will contest four sep[arate play-offs, with the four winners cementing their place in the World Cup. The qualification process will start following the completion of the UEFA Euro 2012 - The qualifiers will begin on 7th September 2012 and will come to a close on 15th October 2013.
