World Cup 2010 - Day 1 Results
The first day of the World Cup got off to great fanfare with South Africa taking on Mexico at the brand new Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. The home crown were vibrant and the stadium erupted when the Bafana Bafana took the lead but in the end the Mexicans got back on level terms with a goal from Rafael Marquez.
Over in Cape Town we saw the French take on Uruguay in the other match in Group A but in the end both teams struggled to a goaless draw. France in particular looked a bit lacklustre and they will need to improve if they are to progress to the last 16.
