Czech Republic World Cup Finalists 1962, 1934
Formerly Czechoslovakia, now the Czech republic, in the early years of the World Cup they finished runners up on two occasions. In 1934 they lost in the final to Italy 2-1 and their star that year was Nejedly.
In the Chile World Cup of 1962 they once again failed at the final hurdle this time by Brazil who beat them three one. In fact should they make another final the omens are against them if they score first as in the previous two finals they went a goal up only to lose out on those occasions.
As the Czech Republic their first World cup was in 1998 but failed to qualify for the finals.
