African Group Qualification
The 24 lowest-ranked teams in Africa contested Round One. The 24 teams were paired into 12 home-and-away series, with the 12 winners advancing to Round Two.

The 12 Round One winners will then join the remaining 28 teams in Round Two. The 40 teams in Round Two have been drawn into ten groups of four and will play the teams in their respective groups both home and away. Round Two is due to get underway on 1st June 2012 and will come to a close on 10th September 2013.

Group B: Tunisia, Cape Verde Islands, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea
Group C: Côte d'Ivoire, Morocco, Gambia, Tanzania
Group D: Ghana, Zambia, Sudan, Lesotho
Group E: Burkina Faso, Gabon, Niger, Congo
Group F: Nigeria, Malawi, Winner, Namibia
Group G: Egypt, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Mozambique
Group H: Algeria, Mali, Benin, Rwanda
Group I: Cameroon, Libya, Winner 2, Congo DR
Group J: Senegal, Uganda, Angola, Liberia
The ten group winners advance to Round Three where they will be paired into five home-and-away ties, which will be played in the periods 11-15 October and 15-19 November 2013. The five winners will advance to the 2014 World Cup Finals.
