Fifa World Cup Final 1978 - Argentina v Holland
When a home nation produces its best form then the World Cup is destined to be a good one as there is nothing like watching the home nation being supported in the way that they were.
In the final Argentina took on the Netherlands who once again had to take on the host nation in the final. Kempes the star of the Argentinean team up to the final put the hosts ahead in the 38th minute, but Dick Nanninga equalised for the Dutch with eight minutes left. But the Argentines were pressed on and Kempes put them ahead again, and Bertoni made it three with five minutes left.
Argentina had made their made home advantage count and with fantastic displays from Fillol's in goal, Passarella's excellent control of his defence and Ardiles' tireless running and the great goal scoring from Kempes all made up to Argentina's first World Cup triumph.
