Fifa World Cup Final 1938 - Hungary v Italy
In the last World Cup for 12 years because of the Second World War and Italy had reached a second successive World Cup final against Hungary in the capital city Paris.
Italy had a good lead going into half time as Gino Colaussi put Italy ahead in the sixth minute, only for Pal Titkos to equalise for Hungary two minutes later. But Italy took control as the first half continued took a 3-1 lead into the interval.
There was no looking back and even after there was a 70th-minute strike from Gyorgy Sarosi to bring Hungary back into the game, Italy sealed the victory with eight minutes from the end.
This made it two wins in a row for the Italians and they would not have a chance to try for the hat trick for another 12 years.
